The Zones Are Drawn on Flight Paths, Not Streets
Accident potential zones and noise zones follow approach and departure corridors. They cut across neighbourhoods rather than following them, so two houses a few streets apart can sit in entirely different positions.
That means a neighbour's experience is a poor guide, and the answer for your parcel is a lookup rather than an impression. The rules themselves are on our page covering the clocks and the ceiling.
The Clocks Do Not Vary at All
The other half of the file is state law and reaches every locality in Virginia. Two years to repair, rebuild or replace before the protected right lapses, and two years of discontinuance capable of ending nonconforming status.
So does the building code. The Uniform Statewide Building Code applies identically across Hampton Roads, which is unusual and genuinely helpful. What changes between cities is zoning.
